Korekty za naruszenie regulaminu i umowy o dofinansowanie mogą prowadzić do pomniejszenia przyznanego wsparcia, uznania części wydatków za niekwalifikowalne albo obowiązku zwrotu środków. Rodzaj sankcji, jej wysokość oraz podstawa naliczenia zależą przede wszystkim od programu, regulaminu naboru, umowy o dofinansowanie i załączników do tej umowy.
W praktyce oznacza to, że podobne uchybienie może skutkować pomniejszeniem liczonym od całej kwoty grantu, od kosztów pośrednich, od konkretnego wydatku albo od części wydatków objętych nieprawidłowością. Dlatego przed rozpoczęciem projektu należy przeanalizować nie tylko wniosek o dofinansowanie, ale również wszystkie obowiązki wynikające z dokumentacji programu.

Taryfikator korekt finansowych określa, jaka część wydatków może zostać uznana za niekwalifikowalną, jeżeli beneficjent naruszy zasady udzielania zamówień w projekcie dofinansowanym. W zależności od rodzaju i znaczenia naruszenia korekta może wynosić od kilku procent do nawet 100% wartości wydatków związanych z danym zamówieniem. Pierwszy biznes – Wsparcie w starcie to preferencyjna pożyczka na otwarcie działalności gospodarczej, przeznaczona dla osób fizycznych planujących założenie własnej firmy. Program umożliwia sfinansowanie wydatków niezbędnych do rozpoczęcia działalności, takich jak zakup sprzętu, wyposażenia, środka transportu, towarów handlowych, narzędzi pracy czy wybranych kosztów stałych na początkowym etapie prowadzenia firmy. Wsparcie ma charakter zwrotny, ale jest udzielane na preferencyjnych warunkach – z bardzo niskim oprocentowaniem (0,25%), możliwością karencji w spłacie oraz częściowym umorzeniem kapitału.
